INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITY:

1979 - Present: Shell Development Company, Staff Geologist, Mr Stanley is responsible for technical training support to the various organizations within Shell such as: Manufacturing, Marketing, Pipeline, Waste Sites, and Exploration and Production. He has conducted or supervised subsurface investigations and remedial action at over 500 locations in 43 states ( and several countries).

COMMITTEE ACTIVITIES:

Mr. Stanely is an EPA Peer Reviewer and a member of API's Soil/Ground Water Technical Task Force. His API group developed the "API Decision Support System for Exposure and Risk Assessment." He also participated in the development of ASTM's Standard "Guide for Risk-Based Corrective Action Applied at Petroleum Release Sites," along with an associated national RBCA implementation program (PIRI). At present, Mr. Stanley is participating with ASTM in the development of a generic RBCA standard for use in various types of sites: voluntary cleanup, RCRA, CERCLA, Brownfields, etc.), and is working with the RBCA Leadership Council to implement the RBCA standard.

He is the Chairman of the Risk/Closure Group, and a member of the ASTM E50 Committee on Environmental Assessment.

TRAINING PROGRAMS:

Mr. Stanley has lectured at The Institute of Environmental Technology, Houston on risk-based closures and the RBCA program, and at numerous other societies and professional groups on a variety of topics.

PUBLICATIONS:

Mr. Stanley has published numerous papers through the years.
