Possible Export of IET Training Programs

IET will consider presenting the introductory or advanced training courses in other states and overseas. Because the IET program is a limited-revenue project, a minimum enrollment will be required to cover course costs, travel, etc. The introductory training program (i.e., Introduction to Environmental Technology) serves two groups of individuals:

Those in other fields wishing to cross-train for working in the environmental field

Those persons already employed in the environmental field but who have had a limited
exposure to the range of technical activities undertaken in the environmental field and wish
to broaden their understanding of the multi-disciplinary nature of the field.

Candidates for training at the introductory level outside the Houston area include recent refugees from the now defunct U.S. Bureau of Mines, and other federal agencies experiencing downsizing and reorganization. The program would, of necessity, be a condenced version of the 4-month, evening and Saturaday morning program regularly presented in Houston, Texas. As in the Houston experience, potential students already employed within the environmental industry would also be welcome.
