Registration Information

Method of Registration:

Register for any of the Institute's technical training programs by filling out and submiting a copy of the Official Registration Form for the course of interest. Enrollment is confirmed by email or phone once the registration form has been completed and payment received.

Class Start Date:

Because a minimum number of registrants is required to financially justify each course offering, course start dates depend, in part, on the number of people in the process of arranging financial support for the course.

Course Provisional Schedule:

The course schedule is designed to present technical subjects in certain sequences during the course. However, because a few of the approximately 25 senior environmental professionals who lecture during the course often have schedule conflicts due to company responsibilities, the schedule is often adjusted to accomodate the lecturers schedule. Provisional revised course schedules will be distributed to the class during the semester.

Course Fees:

The regular fee for the Introduction to Environmental Technology course is $ 1,995.00, which includes all course materials (texts, handouts, and field-trip fees, but not meals). Coffee is served. The course fee per lecture hour of the IET program is well below that of other seminars and workshops, and is a near-breakeven proposition for the underwriters sponsoring the program. The fee per lecture hour for the IET program is approximately $ 11.00 compared to most others which are more than $25.00 per lecture hour. The Guest Lecturers of the Institute provide their lectures on a pro bono basis.

Possible Funding for Unemployed:

Funding by various state and federal agencies may be available for qualified, unemployed individuals under the Title III, Displaced Worker Program, under the supervision of Houston Works. (See contact sources for further information on the Title III program).

Refund Policy:

Course fees will be refunded in full when enrollment is cancelled before the second class meeting. Refunds will not be issued after the beginning of the second class meeting. Refunds for credit card payments will be processed as credits to the accounts from which they were paid and may not appear as a credit until the following statement. Refunds for enrollments paid by cash or check will require two to three weeks to be processed.
