Graduates and References

Graduates of the IET program are awarded a handsome Certificate suitable for framing to testify that they have survived the gruling four-month training program as well as the integrated OSHA 40-HR Hazwoper program  (see Certificate). As graduates set out to search for employment in the environmental field, or for a more responsible position, they usually mention the fact they have undertaken such training by including a summary of the course in their resumes (see Course Syllabus).

For prospective employers who wish to confirm that the applicant graduated from the IET program, the following list of IET graduates confirms they have graduated from the IET program. The list is presented according to the Semester and Year of graduation, and in alphabetical order from the initial Fall Semester, 1992 through Spring, 1996. It should be noted that the addresses presented in the list were given at the time the student registered for the course. Many of the graduates have now moved to other locations, including cities, as they continue to build and expand their careers in the environmental and related fields.

Because only the graduates who have taken the course can judge its value, a list of selected graduates is presented for reference purposes for the prospective student to contact for references on the course or to gain insights into activities undertaken during the course. Again, such contact references may be out of date so contact IET for additional information on references.

The make-up of the class since the beginning of the program is shown in the figure below. Of note is the decline in participation of those with geology degrees as compared with engineering and other degrees. The cause of this trend can not be established with certainty but probably has to do with the oil & gas company tendency to layoff exploration people first, which would primarily include geologists and geophysisists, and then followed by engineers related to production.
