| General Use The IET Web Resources Search Engine was built for speed and simplicity. Enter a keyword to return all results finding that keyword in the resource Title, URL or Description. The more specific the keyword the better the results. To narrow your results try multiple keywords (e.g., USGS maps >> returns results for USGS AND maps). We also have the option (above) for searches using OR which matches any word entered (e.g., USGS maps >> returns results for USGS OR maps). Home Page You may return to the Home page at anytime by clicking on the logo at the top and bottom of every page. Category Searches If you browse to a Category (e.g., REFERENCE RESOURCES) and have trouble finding what you are looking for, you can search at the top right of each page WITHIN THAT CATEGORY by checking the box beneath the search box. What's New Clicking on the What's New link brings up all resources sorted by those most visited first. Under each resource Title you will see Hits Today: # Total: # which are counters tracking how many times each resource is visited. Total: # is the total number of visits a resource has had since it was first added to the index which is usually the date to it's right. What's Hot Clicking on the What's Hot link brings up all resources added within the last 15 days. IET Favorites Clicking on the IET Favorites link brings up all resources designated at favorite resources by the Institute of Environmental Technology staff. These resources are usually excellent sources of information used regularly by the Environmental Professionals at IET. Broken or Incorrect Resources All resources are swept monthly to check if they are valid. The IET staff also uses this index regularly and updates resources as they are needed. If you find a resource that is incorrect or returns an error you may email the IET Webmaster or click the Rate link associated with resource and give it a low 1-Star rating which will cause it to be reviewed usually within 24 hours. Add a Resource You may submit a resource for review at any time by first choosing a Category for the resource and then click the "Add Listing" link at the top right of the page. The IET staff is then alerted to the new resource submission and will review it for possible addition. You may also email the IET Webmaster with a request to add a resource at any time. IET reserves the right to add or exclude any resource from it's index for any reason. This site is a tool for Geoscientists, not an advertising platform. If you are interested in advertising possibilities, contact the IET Webmaster. Sorting and Rating Each resource may be rated by visitors on a scale from 1-5 Stars. Each Category and Search result list may also be sorted by (Ordered By:) Name, Date, Hits, Rating or URL. This sorting can also be performed in either an Ascending or Descending manner. Our mission is to provide the very best resource tool on the Web for Geoscientists and your feedback and rating will help us keep it so. We thank you for your participation.
