The IET
will present the Introductory and Advanced Training Courses and will provide services throughout
the U.S. and overseas as the need arises. Because the IET training programs
are limited-revenue projects, a minimum enrollment is required to
cover course costs, travel, etc. The cost of IET services is based on consulting fees similar to those commanded by experienced consulting companies and independent research institutes in the U.S.
IET Training
The Introduction to Environmental Technology Course serves
three groups of individuals:
- Those persons
in other fields wishing to cross-train for working in the environmental
field.
- Those persons
already employed in the environmental field but with a limited
exposure to the range of technical activities undertaken in the
field who wish
to broaden their understanding of the multi-disciplinary nature
of the field
- Those persons
from any background
wishing to learn about the industrial environmental field.
The program
would, of necessity, be a condensed version of the 4-month program
regularly presented in Houston, Texas. As in the Houston experience,
potential students already employed within and without the environmental
industry would be welcome.
IET Training Outside the U.S.
Candidates for
training at the introductory level outside the Houston area include
recent refugees from the now defunct U.S. Bureau of Mines and other
federal agencies experiencing downsizing and reorganization, as
well as persons being released from the oil and gas industries,
once again.
For discussions on holding courses internationally, please contact
the Principal Instructor: Michael
D. Campbell.
IET Services
In addition to training, the IET also undertakes a variety of other tasks, including special research investigations and seminars in and around the Houston, Texas area, as well as environmental product evaluations throughout the U.S. These investigations and evaluations are designed to provide the public with factual, relevant technical information on selected environmental issues and products. Like the IET training program, these investigations and evaluations are undertaken by members of the IET via funding provided by industry or other sources.
