INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE

Six years in the environmental health science field providing environmental risk assessment and management.

Authored over 30 comprehensive quantitative and qualitative risk assessments or risk-based closure demonstrations under CERCLA, RCRA, ASTM, state RBCA programs, and other regulations. Projects have included petrochemical facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturers, pesticide formulating plants, fuel storage and transfer facilities, transportation facilities, industrial impoundments, landfills and landfarms, wood preservative sites, steel mills, mining sites, metal smelters, industrial disposal sites, metal galvanizing facilities, oil recycling processors, chemical storage areas, municipal utility companies, and retail gasoline service stations.

Performed multi-media cleanup level development for over 20 sites under various regulatory programs. Constituents addressed include organic volatiles and semivolatiles, pesticides, metals, PCBs, dioxins/difurans, and radionuclides.

Modeled constituent transport through various media, both indoors and outdoors, to estimate exposure point concentrations.

Design of investigation and data collection activities to support multi-media, multi-contaminant risk assessment.

Development of toxicological profiles, data management and interpretation.

Characterization and communication of environmental risks associated with human and ecological impacts.

Negotiated with state and federal agencies to obtain approval of risk assessment approaches, risk-based cleanup goals, and reasonable remediation plans with risk-based goals.
